On the Monday report in advance of Thursday’s game against the Bengals, Jackson has a toe injury. He would not have participated in practice, if the Ravens had conducted a full practice. (They held a walk-through.) Since returning on October 30 against the Dolphins, Jackson has seemed to be operating a gear or two below top speed. His rushing numbers are at a career low of fewer than 30 yards per game. As noted by MDS, Jackson has been sacked more times with 195 pass attempts than he was last year with 474 passes thrown. Vikings linebacker Dallas Turner will find his upcoming paychecks more than $34,000 lighter, due to a pair of infractions against the Ravens in Week 10. Turner was fined $17,389 for roughing the passer in the second quarter of the loss to Baltimore. He landed on quarterback Lamar Jackson with his full body weight. Turner also was fined $17,389 for a hip-drop tackle of kicker returner Justice Hill on the opening kickoff of the game. A penalty was called on the roughing violation. No flag was thrown for the hip-drop violation. And, yes, the two fines exceed Turner’s sack total for the year, at 1.5. It’s a fact of which Vikings fans have been keenly aware, especially since Jared Verse was on the board when Turner was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2024 draft.

The NFL has fined the Ravens $100,000 for last week’s violation of injury report, regarding quarterback Lamar Jackson ’s practice participation on Friday of last week. The Ravens have accepted their punisment. “It is critical that the Baltimore Ravens always operate with integrity and in full accordance with NFL guidelines,” the team said in a statement. “We clearly made an error regarding player injury reporting and cooperated transparently with the league’s investigation. “We accept the decision by the NFL that we violated the policy and have taken steps to ensure that we will be compliant moving forward. We will not appeal the ruling and are focused on our upcoming game versus the Vikings.” On one hand, it’s admirable that they’re taking their medicine. The Ravens got quarterback Lamar Jackson back in the lineup last Thursday and he didn’t waste any time showing them what they were missing during his three-game absence. Jackson had been sidelined by a hamstring injury, but he looked back to himself against the Dolphins. Jackson was 18-of-23 for 204 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-6 win that lifted the Ravens to 3-5 on the season. The NFL announced that Jackson has been named the AFC offensive player of the week on Wednesday. It is the 14th time that he has taken that prize. Jackson and the Ravens will try to continue turning their season around against the Vikings this week.
