[Week 3] Lamar sacked 7 times in home loss to Lions on MNF

Image
Jackson went 21-of-27 for a season-high 288 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Ravens keep in step with the Lions in the first three quarters before eventually succumbing. They fell to 1-2. There, however, was also a glaring statistic: He was sacked seven times. It tied the most in a game in his career. He also got sacked seven times in 2021 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and in 2018 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Baltimore lost in both games. continue reading...

[Week 2] Lamar now has the highest career passer rating in NFL history at 102.65

Image
The narrative that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is somehow a poor passer was silly when it first popped up, and even sillier now. The truth is that Jackson has always been a good passer, even if he doesn't fit the typical "pocket passer" archetype that so many pundits love to harp on, and has only gotten better over the years. That culminated in a historic 2024 campaign, when Jackson threw for 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns with only four interceptions. His passer rating of 119.6 was also the fourth-highest in a season in NFL history. continue reading....

[Week 2] Lamar Jackson threw for 225 yards and four touchdown overshadowing Joe Flacco’s emotional return to Baltimore

Lamar Jackson passed for 225 yards and four touchdowns to help spoil Joe Flacco's homecoming as the Baltimore Ravens notched a 41-17 victory over the visiting Cleveland Browns in an AFC North battle on Sunday afternoon. Devontez Walker caught two touchdown passes and DeAndre Hopkins and Tylan Wallace each added one as Baltimore (1-1) rebounded from a disappointing collapse against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. Jackson completed 19 of 29 passes on Sunday. continue reading...

[Week 1] Lamar Jackson says his calf cramps forced Ravens to punt late in fourth quarter

The Ravens decided to punt on fourth-and-3 at their own 38 with 1:33 left despite the Bills having scored three touchdowns on the four previous possessions. It was second-guessed because of the outcome — a stunning 41-40 Buffalo victory — and because of who the Ravens have at quarterback. Ravens coach John Harbaugh said postgame he did think about going for it. “If it’s fourth-and-3, if you don’t get it, they’re in field goal range,” Harbaugh said Sunday. “So, I think punting it is probably what most people would do there .” Lamar Jackson ’s explanation Wednesday actually made more sense: The two-time MVP said cramps in both of his calves made the decision to punt for the Ravens. “Why is a lot being made about that? But anyways, I was actually cramping the drive before that,” Jackson said, via video from Sarah Ellison of Ravens Vault. “The turnover [a fumble by Derrick Henry] happened. But I went to the sideline, and if anybody paid attention to me, I was drinking pickle juice on the ...

[Week1] Lamar Jackson on altercation with Bills fan: Hopefully it won't happen again

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had an altercation with a Bills fan on Sunday night in Buffalo, and afterward he acknowledged he should have walked away. The fan put his hands on both DeAndre Hopkins’ helmet and Jackson’s helmet while they were celebrating behind the end zone, leading Jackson to shove the fan away. Jackson said that’s a situation for security to address and for the players on the field to remove themselves from. “I seen him slap D-Hop,” Jackson said. “Then he slapped me and he was talking, so I just forgot where I was for a little bit. You’ve got to think in those situations. You’ve got security out there, let security handle it. I let my emotions get the best of me. Hopefully it won’t happen again.” Fortunately, the altercation ended quickly, but it would have been better not to happen at all. The Bills should ban the fan, and Jackson knows that if it does happen again, he should resist the temptation to respond. ...

[Week 1] Fan who shoved Lamar Jackson, DeAndre Hopkins was ejected

A Bills fan got treated on Sunday night like the officials treated Jalen Carter on Thursday night. The next question is whether said fan will be treated like Bill Belichick is treating Patriots scouts. The fan who shoved both Ravens receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the helmet after a third-quarter touchdown was ejected from the game, via Mark Maske of the Washington Post . Will the fan now be banned from any further Bills games? We’ve asked the league for comment on the matter, both as it relates to the fan who shoved helmets and Jackson, who shoved the fan. Jackson seemed to express regret for taking the bait and putting hands on the fan who had put a hand on Lamar. However the Bills and the league sort it out, the rules of engagement need to be clear. Ideally, there will be no engagement between fans and players, or players and fans. It’s easier said than done, given the proximity of fans to players in so many stadiums. If and when the league, the Bi...
